Social media, the platform that connects men of all age group, has now made even the most absurd piece to the creepiest thing spread like wildfire. Some examples may be memes that makes you laugh your asses off or some just disturbing to watch or hear. From adorable dodge memes to the inexplicable popularity of “cash me ousside. How ‘bou deh?” that just burst into scene everywhere on the internet, has made people wonder what the next new trend would be.
Like these new unfathomable social media’s sudden craze, Sarahah application has proven itself worth mentioning with over 10 million downloads in just over several months from its launching date. According to a BBC report, this app got popular initially in countries such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Sarahah app, though very popular, managed to get mixed reviews from critics worldwide. Many applications just like this one has emerged like Whisper, Secret and Yik Yak that focused more on social interaction that is more public, unlike Sarahah where messaging is the main motive. This app was created by a developer from Saudi Arabia, ZainAlabdin Tawfiq as a way of sharing honest thoughts while keeping the identity of the sender unknown.
‘Sarahah’ is an Arabic word for ‘honesty’ or ‘candour’ which allows users to send constructive honest feedbacks or opinions about each other. The main advantage of this app is that it helps create a world where u are open to take honest, however hurtful opinion, thus, makes room for improvement. In a way, it gives second chances.
Since the sender remains anonymous and stays that way, the sender has the freedom to pour every little vice, love, heartfelt emotions or just pure adoration to the receiver without any fear that his/her identity will be known.
This platform was initially introduced as a form of workplace feedback tool, but quickly gained popularity when youths started making use of it on Snapchat. In a way, Sarahah rose to fame through Snapchat.
The app description reads “Sarahah helps you in discovering your strengths and areas for improvement by receiving honest feedback from your employees and your friends in a private manner.”
Before its popularity, the app’s main objective was to allow employees to discover their strengths and weaknesses through honest feedbacks in terms of how they conduct themselves at work which had led to a productive workplace.
Here, users have no means to communicate with each other but users are free to make the messages public by sharing the link or posting a screenshot of the message online which isn’t always guaranteed to find the said anonymous sender. But it should also to be noted that all the messages received aren’t always true due to fraudsters and so, it is advised not to take them too seriously.
HOW TO MAKE A SARAHAH ACCOUNT?
There are two simple methods.
- If you are a new user with no Sarahah application installed, then click on this link sarahah.com or write them manually on your browser. Click on Register and fill out the page. Give your credentials and then you are good to go.
- Go to your Google app or play store and type in Sarahah. Install the app and register. Remember your log in credentials for future use unless you didn’t save them in remember mode.
Users may make their username or link to their account public to receive messages from potential senders and these users may share these messages online directly to Facebook or Snapchat by clicking on the share option. This share option is still currently unavailable in Windows which is still in its beta stage. Since the Windows store doesn’t have Sarahah, you can still use it by typing in the link on your browser.
SARAHAH KEEPS LOGGING ME OUT OR LOCKED SARAHAH ACCOUNT AND HOW TO SOLVE IT
Sometimes, cases like these happen that even after you typed in your credentials correctly, you cannot log in to your Sarahah account. A message may pop up that says, “Sorry, our servers are loaded with honest people! We’re working hard to improve your experience.” This is a common problem that disturbs most users.
In most cases, the only solution is to wait some time and try logging in again and again. Well, hakuna matata, we have a set of solutions that will help you retrieve your account back so that you can get back to roasting people.
The first case is due to the flooding of users.
The number of users may have increased so much that the server crashes. This is a normal problem as in the case of popular websites. If this ever happens, go to the app settings and clear the cookies or caches. These caches are the app data that saves information like your login credentials and your app preference settings. Clearing both Sarahah’s and Snapchat’s caches or cookies will free up some memory. Try logging in again after sometime. Another possible cause is certain bugs which are sometimes caused by updates of the app.
- If all cases fail, check your internet connection and see if poor connectivity is logging you out.
Sometimes shits like this happen that the internet connection or data plan fails to work. If the internet connection is weak, the Sarahah app or any app for that matter tries to log you in but loses your information altogether when the connection fluctuates. Try switching off your data and wait for the device to cool down and switch it on again.
Additionally, you can also try switching on Airplane mode. Turning Airplane mode on can sometimes fix certain app related issue including Sarahah login failed or Sarahah account locked. Just go to your phone settings, under your Wireless & Networks settings, there is an option to turn your phone into Airplane mode. On Android, just swipe down your notification area and you will find an icon to turn on. Keep it for a for a few minute and turn it off again. After that, try logging in to your Sarahah account again when the connectivity is favourable.
- Try logging out and logging in again.
Whenever you face problems like apps that won’t let you log in, logging out may solve the issue. Just open Sarahah app and go to your profile and on the top right corner of your screen, you’ll see ‘settings’. Tap on that and scroll down till you find ‘logout’ and tap on it. Logout Sarahah from the Snapchat app as well. After all this is done, try logging in by providing correct account details and see if it works.
- Check your Sarahah login credentials.
Not always, it happens that we become so forgetful that we don’t even remember the lunch we had earlier. What I’m saying is that in spite of how sure we are about something, there’s always a window of possibility that what we remembered is wrong. So, re-check your account information and log in again.
- Update Sarahah app.
Certain apps are designed to work only on certain versions of Android or iOS devices. Some apps operate in such a way that unless otherwise updated, it fails to work due to incompatibility. For iOS devices, if you are on jailbreak and rooted Android devices, some functions of the Apps may become inaccessible. Please note that Sarahah App requires a minimum of iOS 9.0 or later and for Android it requires 4.4 and up and running.
So, it is advised to update the app whenever an update alert pops up.
- Uninstall and reinstall app.
If none of the above methods work in your favour, uninstall and reinstall the Sarahah app. If this doesn’t also work, then Sarahah probably has gone kaput.
