Link Sarahah to Snapchat

There are three ways you can easily link Sarahah to Snapchat. All of these methods involve attaching a link from your Snapchat.

Before we get to that however, a quick word. While Sarahah is all fun when you receive positive feedback from friends and people close to you, one single message could ruin the experience for you.

Sarahah was created with the intent of self-development by receiving anonymous and honest feedback from people. In theory, this is all sound and good. But this often times is not the case to be.

I am almost certain you would receive at least a few negative feedback from your friends. Some will surely have a bad thing or two to say about you. And more often than not, these are going to be true.

For instance, there’s at least going to be one person out there who thinks you’re pretentious. Or that you’re selfish. Or that you’re an attention whore.

While you may not think that you’re any of these things, there is someone who thinks you are. And he/she has said it. And you’re not going to know who this person is.

This is where you begin to dislike Sarahah. While the purpose of Sarahah is to let you know the truth and develop your personality based on it — and the truth is that someone thinks you seek too much attention — you’re going to feel bad. You will begin to forget all the good things people say about you and focus solely on the one message that speak ill of you, which in fact, is an honest opinion of someone about you.

There’s another issue.

Because Sarahah messages are completely anonymous, there’s always going to be someone who sends you vulgar messages. All the more so if that someone is writing to your Sarahah profile via Snapchat.

Snapchat has had a reputation for being a sexting platform because of the ephemeral nature of messages (photos and videos) sent on the app. Moreover, there has been few cases where sex predators and pedophiles prey on young teenagers on Snapchat.

And Sarahah being an anonymous messaging platform, a Sarahah-Snapchat combination could be quite lethal.

Say, you posted a Story on Snapchat with a link to your Sarahah profile. Anyone who viewed your Snapchat story would be able to send you a message on Sarahah.

What kind of messages do you think they would send you? What if your snap was a bathroom selfie of you and you’re only wearing undergarments?

Sure, not all of the messages you receive could be vulgar. But it isn’t hard to imagine that at least one or two of the people who view your Story would send you a most inappropriate message on Sarahah, something along the lines of ‘I wanna pee in your butt’ or I’d love for you to tie me down and forcibly have your way with me. These are real Sarahah messages that people have received.

So, it would be wise to think thoroughly before you start to link all of your snaps with your Sarahah profile.

How to link Sarahah to Snapchat – Method 1

Since the Snapchat update that lets you attach links to your snaps, link sharing has become quite common on Snapchat. You could attach any link (URL) to your snap or story and when someone views the snap, he/she will be able to access the page that your snap links to.

Linking Sarahah to Snapchat is simply this. You attach your profile link (URL) to your snap. That’s simply it.

Without too much discussion on ethics and whatnot, let’s get right to it.

Here’s how to link Sarahah to Snapchat:

  1. Take a photo on Snapchat. Add whatever filters and lenses you want to.
  2. Tap on the attachment (clip) icon on the right.
    sarahah snapchat
  3. In the box that says ‘Type a URL’ (at the top of your screen), enter your Sarahah profile link (
  4. Wait for the Sarahah profile page to fully load.
  5. When the page has fully loaded (you will see your Sarahah profile), tap on ‘Attach to Snap’ at the bottom.
    link sarahah to snapchat

And that’s it. Your Sarahah profile has been linked (attached) to your Snapchat. When someone opens the snap, he/she will see the attachment (clip) icon at the bottom of the snap. Upon clicking/tapping on the icon, he/she will be taken to your Sarahah profile where he/she can post messages.

You cannot permanently link Sarahah to Snapchat. You have to manually do this for each snap you want to attach your Sarahah profile page to.

How to link Sarahah to Snapchat – Method 2

Although this method is basically the same as the above mentioned method, there is a slight twist.

If you’re unable to connect your Sarahah profile to your snaps using method 1, try the following method.

  1. Take a snap on Snapchat.
  2. Tap on the attachment (clip) icon on the right.
  3. In the box that says ‘Type a URL’ (at the top of your screen), enter this URL:
  4. Wait for the Sarahah website to load. When it has finished loading, go to the search bar and search for your name or Sarahah username.
  5. When you have found your profile, tap on it. This will bring up your profile page.
  6. When your Saraha profile page has finished loading, tap on ‘Attach to Snap’ at the bottom.

It’s basically the same as the previous method, but in this case, you’re searching for your profile. This is because you could have entered a wrong username in the previous method. Since usernames are unique, you have to make sure that you typed in exactly the correct username letter for letter. This 2nd method is useful in case you don’t remember the exact spelling of your Sarahah username, or when you mistyped a character of the URL.

Since the latest Sarahah update, the search functionality on Sarahah website is no longer available, so this method might no longer work. Please skip to method 3.

How to link Sarahah to Snapchat – Method 3

If the above two methods do not work for you, you can try the following:

  1. Take a snap on Snapchat.
  2. Tap on the attachment (clip) icon on the right.
  3. In the box that says ‘Type a URL’ (at the top of your screen), enter this URL:
  4. When the Sarahah website finishes loading, tap on the ‘Login’ link at the bottom.
    link sarahah to snapchat
  5. Log in to your Sarahah account by entering your username and password.
  6. Tap on your Sarahah profile link.
    connect sarahah to snapchat
  7. When your profile page has fully loaded (you will see your Sarahah profile), tap on ‘Attach to Snap’ at the bottom.

All of the above methods work quite fine. There is really no science to it. The principle is that you are attaching a link on your snap, and the link is your Sarahah profile page.

Here’s a quick video tutorial on how to link Sarahah to your Snapchat:

Why you should use Sarahah on Snapchat

Although I’ve written quite a bit about why you should not put Sarahah link on Snapchat, there are many valid reasons why you should.

Sarahah does not have a friend discovery feature. That is, you are unable to find out if your friends are using the app. Also, it does not have a contacts list.

Because of these, it is very hard for people to find you on Sarahah.

The only way you could let your friends know that you’re on Sarahah is by sharing your Sarahah profile page link. You could share this link on Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Twitter or any other social networking sites. And since Snapchat only let you post photos or videos, the only way you can share links is by attaching the link to a snap.

You could enter your Sarahah profile URL in the captions of your snap, but viewers won’t be able to click on it as it would simply be part of the snap (photo or video). So you’re left with just one option: attach your Sarahah profile URL as a link on Snapchat.

If you want your friends to give you feedback, Snapchat surely is the next best option to share your Sarahah profile link, especially if you’re an avid user of Snapchat.

Sarahah heavily relies on social networking platforms for publicity. This is justifiable because Sarahah needs to maintain its anonymous messaging feature.

When the app starts to connect with Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and other social networking sites, there’s a good chance that senders’ anonymity could be compromised.

So, Snapchat is simply one of the many platforms to share your Sarahah profile link.
